Greeley, Colorado is located approximately 60 miles north of the state's capitol city, Denver. Elevation above sea level is 4,658 feet. As of the census of 2000, there were 76,930 people, 27,647 households, and 17,694 families residing in the city. Greeley is most known for it's division 1 college, the University of Northern Colorado, the home of the Bears. The University of Northern Colorado's Monfort College of Business is one of the top business schools in the nation, attracting top business students all over the United States. Greeley is also the home of professional baseball pitcher, Shawn Chacon as well as the UFC top heavyweight title contender, Shane Carwin.
